Democratic Senators: Block any Supreme Court nomination for four years

First, this is to protect the constitution from the destruction the radical right wing will continue, such as prohibiting the people from limiting money in our political system.

That is a fight worth fighting. We’d go to war — many even nuclear war — to protect our constitution. We can filibuster for it.

Second, but isn’t that not very polite? Isn’t that obstructionism?

Oh, sorry, I misheard, you didn’t really just say that.

Third, Republicans have already given us the talking point to justify it: let the people have a say.

Republicans said that even when the people clearly DID have a say, by electing Obama, for nearly a year of his term.

So, now, while four years is longer than most of a year, our case is strengthened by Hillary getting the votes over trump she did. We want to wait for a president who gets the most votes.

Add to that argument, we have the justification of punishing their wrongdoing.

Finally, but didn’t Republicans approve two justices for Obama before blocking one?

Kagan got THREE Republican votes. Sotomayer did a little better but got fewer than 10 Republicans.

So, no, they did not.

I want the Senate to proudly block any nomination until the next presidential election. Protect the constitution.
