Refocus the resistance on the Republican Party and its donors, now

Politically, we’d like Democrats to win. trump could actually be an asset to that.

What we’re looking at now is that when Republicans realize it, and some already do, they have no interest in keeping trump and every interest in dumping him.

And that leads to a narrative of scapegoating trump and painting themselves as the ‘good guys’ who support the bad apple being gone.

It lets them claim the issue was trump, rather than the corrupt donors and policies.

And the ill-informed public falls for that kind of thing.

If our message is primarily ‘trump is terrible’, then that’s not a reason to vote Democrat when trump is out.

It sets us up to look like we’re just changing the topic for convenience — oh, now that trump’s gone we just go after the next Republican. Yawn.

Criticizing trump is very correct but should be a secondary message to criticizing the Republican policies and corruption, and trump is just an added problem to that.

Or, we’re normalizing the Republican corruption and agenda and can enjoy continued Republican rule without trump.

If we didn’t have a big problem with many voters not understanding why Republicans are bad, trump wouldn’t have won the electoral vote and Republicans wouldn’t control government.
